Our Services

At Birchwood Counseling, our therapists specialize in the treatment of PTSD, trauma, and related symptoms. It is important to us to get to know you as a whole person, your goals for treatment, and your path for getting there.

It is deeply important to us to offer treatment protocols that have been researched and proven to help. Part of that is deciding what treatment to offer at what point in the client's healing process. We engage all clients in a collaborative assessment to better understand your current treatment needs and make a treatment plan with you. Our clinic offers interventions that can help at different stages of trauma recovery including somatic interventions, focused trauma processing, couples treatment, and follow up groups.

We are now offering group treatment sessions that focus on reducing mental health symptoms that are a result of traumatic experiences.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT): This is an effective and well researched treatment for trauma related disorders. The focus of the treatment is on exploring and challenging the beliefs that were made during and after the trauma in order to “make sense” of it.

Healing Trauma with Yoga: Trauma-informed yoga led by a therapist with specialized yoga teacher training. This group is for female identified clients who are experiencing PTSD or other trauma related symptoms. The gentle practices taught in group can decrease symptoms of hyperarousal and avoidance while enhancing mindful awareness and acceptance of emotions.
