My Approach to Therapy
I’ve spent the majority of my career working with patients experiencing severe psychiatric distress and acute crises in inpatient psychiatric settings. These experiences have given me a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the challenges individuals face during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I recognize how exhausting and discouraging navigating the healthcare system can be, particularly when individuals feel unheard, unseen, or unsupported by their providers. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to creating a space where people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported in their journey toward healing.
My aim is to partner with you to reach our goals together no matter where you’re at in your journey of recovery. I strive to remain trauma informed and a source of compassion for all who meet with me. I hope to work side by side with you, in order to address your trauma and concerns.
Who I Work With
I’m passionate about working with individuals that have multiple identities and those who may not feel represented in society. Including those with racial, religious or cultural trauma. I practice intersectional feminism with the understanding that oppression can impact you in more than one way simultaneously. As a daughter of an Ethiopian immigrant I have seen firsthand the complexities of having to navigate a society that was not created for those of color to thrive in. My approach is rooted in inclusivity, cultural competency and anti-oppressiveness. Through these approaches I want to create an environment where you feel safe to delve into your journey of recovery.
